Random Family-isms
For those of you know me, I have a brother in his early teens. I also have two parents who aren't super tech savvy and/or process oriented. I adore them immensely - but that's the reality. Anyway, in the past two weeks - here are some of the things they've said to me:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brother: "Didi*, you know that its in the sky right? Which means its not in your computer."
Me: "You mean the cloud"
Brother: "No Didi*, its the sky. Don't you know anything?"
Me: Quietly thinking: "Wow, I work in SaaS, and here he is telling me what its called"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mom: "R, I don't care about the process at all. Just get it done with the results I want"
Me: quietly thinking: "wow...no more work dramas for her"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mom (who newly just got an Android Phone): Excitedly "R, thanks for sending my itinerary. Did you know you can get emails on your phone these days?"
Me: "yes mom. I'm glad you got my email"
Mom: "I had 50 unread emails. They were from your wedding**! Thanks for those"
Me: "Wow Mom, you need to check your email more. And you don't need to thank me for emailing you"
Mom: "Who knew you could get emails on your phone?"
Me: complete silence
Oh parents.
*: Didi is an Indian term to show respect for an older sister.
**: My wedding was over 3 years ago, which means these emails were from when I was engaged which was over 4 years ago.

N's Project 365: Week 23
September 4, 2011: Who says you can't have dessert (a little nutella donut action) with breakfast?
September 5, 2011: Huh?
September 6, 2011: During my first visit to a bank teller in years, I was delighted to see that they still keep lollipops handy.
September 7, 2011: It's unfortunate that only the "L" was blocked from my view.
September 8, 2011: Nope.
September 10, 2011: Another shot of the Bay Bridge.

Stuff R Likes - Travelng Edition
I wanted to share the top 5 things I like - especially when I'm traveling, whether its for business or pleasure.
1. Almay Make Up Eraser Sticks: I love eye makeup, especially liquid liner and mascara. I refuse to leave the house without it - especially at night. I feel like my eyes are droopy when I don't have it on.
I would also recommend the Le Pliage Longchamp tote for long travels. The bag is foldable (so you can just pack it), is waterproof, and sturdy. I was able to make this my carryon for my flight home and stuff many souveniers and duty free purchases in it. The best of all was that this was the same bag I took to the beach and it still looks brand new!
3. Shampoo and conditioner bars from Lush. I love these for when I'm going on a quick trip and don't want to check my luggage or have a thousand more things spilling out from my ziploc bag. My favorite one is the Godiva Bar - first of all, its named Godiva, and secondly it smells AMAZING!.
4. My NOOK! I can't tell you enough about this thing. It's amazing and it takes up less room than my portfolio! I downloaded the Millenium series, and was able to have SO much entertainment for less than the size of a book.
5. Lastly, perfume atomizer. Gone are the days of lugging around your expensive perfume and praying it doesn't break in your luggage while its wrapped around a soft sweater. This atomizer allows for easy fill and transport in your luggage. And best of all, it's $5!

N's Project 365: Week 22
August 28, 2011: I know it's wrong to photograph unsuspecting strangers, but this scene was so adorable. An elderly woman reading to her ailing husband in the courtyard of Crossroads Cafe while his caretaker dozed in the sun.
August 29-31, 2011: I failed this week.
September 1, 2011: Stung 'Em!
September 2, 2011: You gotta love a $3 pashmina from Target.

The Spanish - They are just like US!
While in Spain, I took notice of how the Spanish were similar to us. This is inspired by my favorite part of US Weekly! I hope you're as entertained as I am :)
They have liquor stores! |
They play Bingo! |
They have street performers! |
My favorite: they eat Calippo! |
They use protein powder! |
They line up at Apple stores! |
Nachos are on their bar menus! |
They eat KFC! |
They charge their electric cars! |
They have ATMs! |

N's Project 365: Week 21
August 21, 2011: A great way to start the day.
August 22, 2011: Got in bed and realized I hadn't taken a photo that day. Oooh, I was up late.
August 23, 2011: Fail.
August 24, 2011: Rebelliously took out my phone while driving to get a random shot of Giants stadium.
